Nothing Phone 2a launched at price of under ₹30,000 in India

The eagerly anticipated Nothing Phone (2a) is poised to make its debut in India and other global markets on March 5, marking the UK-based company's most affordable smartphone release thus far. Founder Carl Pei has even suggested that the upcoming Phone 2a could undercut the price of the inaugural Nothing Phone 1.

Notably, in a nod to Nothing's strategic focus on the Indian market, Pei has rebranded himself as "Carl Bhai" on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, he has confirmed that the forthcoming mid-range smartphone will be 'Made in India'.

Ahead of its highly anticipated launch, there has been considerable speculation surrounding the design, pricing, processor, and camera specifications of the Phone 2a.

Expected Price and Specifications

According to a post by tipster Yogesh Brar on X (formerly Twitter), the Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, previously featured in the Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

Moreover, rumors suggest the smartphone may be priced at approximately €349 (around ₹30,000) for the 8GB RAM/128GB variant and €399 (around ₹35,000) for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant.

If the rumored ₹30,000 price tag for the Nothing Phone (2a) holds true, it could position the latest smartphone in direct competition with popular models like the Redmi Note Pro+ and the Realme 12 Pro+.

In terms of specifications, the Phone (2a) is anticipated to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For photography enthusiasts, the device may boast a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, alongside a 32MP front-facing shooter for all selfie and video call needs.

Running on the company's proprietary Nothing OS 2.5, based on the latest Android 14 operating system, the smartphone is expected to support up to 45W of fast charging. However, it remains unclear whether the device will include a 45W charger in the package.
