Kane Williamson smashes 32nd Test ton vs South Africa at home

Kane Williamson showcased his brilliance with an unbeaten century, marking his 32nd Test ton, as New Zealand secured a 2-0 series victory against South Africa by successfully chasing 267.

The partnership of 152 with Will Young played a crucial role in achieving a record fourth-innings run chase at Seddon Park. Despite the series triumph, the achievement is tempered by the inexperience of the South African squad, with fewer total caps than several Black Caps players.

New Zealand skipper Tim Southee praised Williamson's outstanding performance, describing the test match as an old-fashioned, intense battle. The South African tourists, despite a resilient fight following their loss in the first test, faced disappointment due to a second-innings collapse.

Captain Neil Brand acknowledged the team's bounce-back in the series but expressed regret over the missed opportunity in the final test, particularly the setback in the previous session.
