ASUS unveils Season 9 of ROG Academy in India

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched Season 9 of the ROG Academy, a leading esports training initiative in India. This season, centered around CS2, is dedicated to fostering emerging gaming talent, providing participants with high-quality gaming infrastructure, mentorship, and insights from industry veterans.

In collaboration with Saharyar “BaDMaN” Shaikh, renowned for his decade-long career as a CS:GO In-Game Leader, ROG Academy Season 9 focuses on talent identification and development. The program continues its commitment to educational growth, featuring guest sessions from esteemed professionals to enhance participants' learning experiences.

With over 13,000 registrations in past seasons and 48 players transitioning to the professional level, ROG Academy has proven its dedication to nurturing talent. Notable alumni, such as Seek and Arakyn, secured placements in Grayfox Esports, highlighting the program's success.

Season 9, in partnership with AFK Gaming, spans a 6-month curriculum covering various gameplay aspects, including teamwork, communication, opponent analysis, improvement tracking, weapon selection, skillsets, map breakdown, and execution techniques.

Titled “CS2,” Season 9 provides selected players with a monthly stipend of INR 15,000 and the latest ROG gears for training. The rigorous selection process comprises an application test, theory test, range test to evaluate shooting skills, and scrims to assess gameplay, communication, and role suitability.

Aspiring gamers aged 16 and above can register on the official website, with parental consent required for those aged 16 to 18. The registration, which commenced on February 4, 2024, involves answering key questions to help ASUS determine the player’s type.
