TV actors Shrenu Parikh and Akshay Mhatre, who collaborated on the television series Ghar Ek Mandir, exchanged vows on Thursday in the company of their close friends and family. The wedding festivities unfolded in Shrenu’s hometown of Vadodara.
The newlyweds shared enchanting snapshots from their nuptials on social media. Shrenu adorned herself in a adorned red and orange lehenga, while Akshay donned a red sherwani for the occasion. Alongside the photos, Shrenu penned, “Forever taken ❤️🧿 21/12/23 #LoveAtFirstTake.”
Close friends of the couple also posted images and videos from the celebration on social media. One video showcased Shrenu gracefully walking down the aisle to the tune of the song “Dilbaro” from the film Raazi. Another captured the couple exchanging garlands, met with enthusiastic cheers from friends and family.
Preceding their vows, Shrenu and Akshay immersed themselves in pre-wedding festivities. A sangeet ceremony, featuring lively performances to popular Bollywood songs with friends, took place on Wednesday. The mehendi ceremony unfolded on Tuesday. Shrenu’s Ishqbaaz co-star Surbhi Chandna and Manis Srivastava were part of the joyous wedding celebrations.
Shrenu Parikh, known for her roles in TV shows like Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampan, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir, Ishqbaaaz, Ghar Ek Mandir, and Zindgi Ka Har Rang…Gulaal, among others, has become a household name. Akshay Mhatre, recognized for portraying Naren Vyas in Piyaa Albela and Rohan in Indiawaali Maa, also graced the occasion.
In an interview with Etimes before the wedding, Shrenu shared that Akshay never formally proposed to her. Akshay expressed, “I don’t like cheesy proposals, so we never had anything formal. But ever since we started dating, we both knew that we were headed towards marriage. After we spoke to our families, the dates were fixed.”
