Telegram CEO is giving away 10,000 Premium subscriptions for free

If you've ever wanted to experience Telegram Premium, the popular instant messaging platform is offering everyone a chance to claim a three-month paid subscription for free. Simply participate in the giveaway hosted on Telegram CEO Pavel Durov's official channel.

The announcement states, "Telegram will randomly select 10,000 users who have joined Du Rove's channel." The lucky winners will receive premium access for three months, with the selection taking place on February 29 at 9:00 am EST / 6:00 am PST / 3:00 pm CET / 7:30 pm IST.

The giveaway is open to all subscribers of Du Rove's channel. If you're already a member, you'll automatically be entered as a participant and eligible for the prize.

Introduced in 2022, Telegram Premium is a $4.99 per month subscription service offering additional features such as colored names, higher upload limits, faster loading times, premium stickers, an ad-free experience, custom emojis, app icons, advanced chat management, account colors, and more.

While anyone can post a Telegram Story, premium subscribers enjoy benefits such as priority placement for increased visibility, stealth mode, permanent view history, and the ability to add captions up to 10 times longer. Premium users can also hide their read time and view the read time of others if it's been shared with them.

Premium users have access to all resource-intensive features, but the company also periodically releases new features for free users. Telegram currently boasts over 800 million monthly active users, with broadcast channels on the platform generating over 1 trillion views monthly.

Telegram competes with Meta's WhatsApp, which currently lacks a premium tier. However, users of Facebook and Instagram have the option to pay a monthly fee for a verification badge and some additional features.
