Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with Oryon CPU is coming in October

Qualcomm made headlines last October during the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii with the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Now, it's been revealed that this year's Snapdragon Summit, also scheduled for October, will see the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

This information was shared by Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire in a video posted on X during the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC). McGuire mentioned that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will feature the Oryon CPU.

Before the arrival of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, Qualcomm is anticipated to unveil another chip in the Snapdragon 8 Gen series. This chip, with the model designation SM8635, is rumored to include a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 2.9GHz, paired with an Adreno 735 GPU for handling graphically intensive tasks.

Expected to be manufactured on TSMC's 4nm node, this chip boasts an impressive AnTuTu score of around 1.7 million. Positioned between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3, it's speculated to be named either the Snapdragon 8s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite.
