Realme 12 Plus in for review

Realme has officially launched the Realme 12 Plus 5G in India, alongside the Realme 12 5G. Positioned as the more premium option, the Realme 12 Plus boasts enhanced specifications and a slightly higher price tag.

Available in configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, the Realme 12 Plus is priced at Rs 20,999 and Rs 21,999 respectively. Customers can choose between two color variants: Pioneer Green and Navigator Beige, both featuring a faux leather back cover.

Included in the package are a 67W fast charger, USB Type A-Type C cable, SIM ejector tool, and the Realme 12 Plus device.

Retaining the design elements of the Realme 12 Pro series, the Realme 12 Plus features a flat chassis, slim profile, and lightweight build (measuring 7.87mm thick and weighing 190g). It also boasts a basic IP54 rating for splash resistance. However, the glossy frame is susceptible to smudging.

The Realme 12 Plus sports a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It incorporates Rainwater technology to prevent ghost touches when handling with wet hands, and biometric authentication is facilitated by an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the Realme 12 Plus is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and houses a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Operating on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, the device is eligible for two major OS updates and three years of security updates.

Connectivity options include 5G, 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.2. Additionally, the phone features dual speakers and a headphone jack.

For photography enthusiasts, the Realme 12 Plus boasts a triple camera setup on the rear, comprising a 50-megapixel primary Sony Lyt-600 sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera is a 16-megapixel shooter.
