OnePlus Buds 3 Review

OnePlus Buds 3 Review

OnePlus kicks off 2024 with a winner – the OnePlus Buds 3, true wireless earbuds that bring almost all "pro" features at a modest price of Rs 5,499. Equipped with dual dynamic drivers, LHDC 5 for Hi-Res Audio, 94ms low latency, touch volume control, up to 49dB active noise cancellation, IP55 water and dust protection, and a remarkable 44 hours of playback time with the charging box, the Buds 3 deliver substantial value.

The design, borrowing from the Buds Pro 2, showcases a sleek short-stemmed style and an upgraded charging case.

Available in Splendid Blue and Metallic Grey, the Buds 3's aesthetics impress, and their lightweight design doesn't compromise on quality. Despite being glossy plastic, the buds feel anything but cheap. The hinge on the charging box is smooth, and the overall build quality adds to the premium appearance.

In terms of audio, fit, and user experience, the Buds 3 stand out. The snug fit contributes to good audio performance, with clear vocals, immersive background, and surprisingly good bass. While not reaching the level of the more expensive Buds Pro 2, the Buds 3 outshine similarly priced TWS, offering superior sound.

The OnePlus Hey Melody app allows users to customize fit, sound, check battery status, and control noise options, including noise cancellation and transparency mode. Touch controls on the buds are effective, providing functionalities such as music playback, call management, and volume control.

However, there are a few caveats. The active noise cancellation (ANC) on the Buds 3, though decent, may not entirely eliminate mid-frequency noise like conversations. Sound leakage at moderate volumes may be noticeable to those around you.

In terms of battery life, OnePlus claims up to 7 hours of playback with 10 minutes of fast charging. Real-world usage of 6-7 hours daily saw the need to charge once every day and a half.

For the price of Rs 5,499, the OnePlus Buds 3 emerges as a solid choice for TWS enthusiasts seeking excellent design, sound quality, decent noise cancellation, and impressive battery life. While not reaching Pro-grade levels, the Buds 3 offers remarkable value in the TWS market with ANC features.
