On Thursday (February 8), Itel unveiled the Itel P55 and Itel P55+ in India, marking the debut of the latest budget-friendly smartphones from the Chinese brand. Featuring an iPhone-like Dynamic Bar, these new devices facilitate quick access to notifications and face unlock functionality.
Powered by Unisoc T606 SoC and offering up to 256GB of storage, both the Itel P55 and Itel P55+ support Memory Fusion technology to expand onboard memory using unused storage space. Boasting 5,000mAh battery units, the Itel P55+ further impresses with its 45W fast charging capability.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Itel P55 is priced at Rs. 7,999 for the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and is available in Aurora Blue, Moonlit Black, and Brilliant Gold color options.
On the other hand, the Itel P55+ carries a price tag of Rs. 9,499 for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and is offered in Meteor Black and Royal Green colors, with the Royal Green variant featuring a Vegan Leather finish.
Both models will be available for purchase via Amazon starting February 13, 12:00pm IST, following the legacy of last year's Itel P40 smartphones, which were launched in March and July with price tags of Rs. 7,699 and Rs. 8,099, respectively.
In terms of specifications, both the Itel P55 and Itel P55+ run on Android 13 and feature a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 SoC and featuring Memory Fusion technology, these smartphones offer enhanced performance.
The Itel P55+ comes with 16GB of RAM (including virtual memory) and 256GB of onboard storage, while the Itel P55 is available in 12GB and 24GB RAM options (including virtual memory) with 128GB storage as standard.
Imaging capabilities include an AI-backed 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Connectivity options encompass Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G, audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
Both models are equipped with 5,000mAh battery units, with the Itel P55 supporting 18W fast charging and the Itel P55+ boasting 45W fast charging technology, promising to charge up to 70 percent in just 30 minutes with its hypercharge, low temp charging, and AI-based smart charging modes.
