Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh confirm pregnancy

Celebrity duo Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are anticipating the arrival of their first child, causing a buzz online. They shared the pregnancy news via a post on Thursday, revealing a due date of "September 2024."

Speculation about Deepika concealing a baby bump arose after BAFTA Awards images surfaced, showing her covering her midsection. Both actors announced the news on their respective Instagram accounts using an e-card featuring baby-related items in soft pastel hues.

Suspicions about the pregnancy heightened on social media, particularly on microblogging platform X, following Deepika's attempts to hide her abdomen at the BAFTA red carpet. She attended as a presenter, garnering attention in a dazzling silver saree by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

In a previous Vogue Singapore interview, the "Ram Leela" actress openly expressed her family desires, saying, "Ranveer and I adore children. We eagerly await the moment when we can begin our own family."

The couple tied the knot in November 2018 in Lake Como, Italy, after six years of dating. Their on-screen chemistry in films like "Ram Leela," "Padmavaat," and "Bajirao Mastani" captivated audiences.

After the pregnancy announcement, Bollywood celebs congratulated them on social media. Priyanka Chopra wrote, "Mubarak" with a red heart emoji, and Kriti Sanon exclaimed, "Omg!!!! Congratulations you two!"

Professionally, Deepika was last seen in "Fighter" alongside Hrithik Roshan, and she's set to appear in "Kalki 2898 AD" with Prabhas. Meanwhile, Ranveer is gearing up for "Don 3" with Kiara Advani.

Both actors are invited to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar from March 1 to March 3. In recent interviews, Deepika and Ranveer expressed their excitement about starting a family, with Ranveer mentioning their discussions about potential baby names and his aspiration to become a father in 2-3 years.
