Xiaomi 14 Ultra with quad 50MP camera setup launched globally

Xiaomi has recently introduced its latest flagship phone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, at the Mobile World Congress 2024. Released a few days ago in China, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

In terms of design, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra maintains similarities with its predecessor, but the company has expanded the curved display to encompass all sides. The device operates on HyperOS, based on Android 14 out of the box, and features Leica Summilex tuned lenses.

Compared to the standard Xiaomi 14, the Ultra model boasts a larger 6.73-inch 120Hz QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The rear houses a circular camera island, housing a 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT900 primary camera, accompanied by a 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto lens offering 3.2x optical zoom, a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Additionally, it includes a center punch-hole display accommodating a 32MP selfie shooter.

Xiaomi is also reintroducing its photography kit for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, enabling users to connect a separate camera grip and a dedicated shutter release button to the phone. The grip, attached via USB-C, offers customizable controls for adjusting shutter speed, ISO, and aperture, and includes a 1,500mAh battery.

Differentiating from other variants in the series, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a larger 5,300mAh battery with 90W charging capability, slightly slower than the Xiaomi 14 Pro's 120W charging.

It also supports 80W wireless charging. Unlike other models in the series, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is available in a single variant offering 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, currently priced at EUR 1,499, approximately Rs 1,34,500.
